The Sport Contact 5 SSR is a summer performance tire designed for glue-like grip, rapid steering response and powerful braking for your performance drive.
This summer performance tire is suitable for sporty cars and SUVs that need high powered cornering ability in the wet or dry summer conditions.
As a run-flat tire, the Sport Contact 5 SSR’s reinforced sidewall allows the car to continue on a flat with a maximum speed of 50mph for up to 50 miles.
This tire is engineered for shorter braking distances and strong cornering, all while reducing fuel consumption and boosting treadwear.
To resist hydroplaning and boost wet weather traction, this tire uses four circumferential grooves that channel water away from the contact patch.
Rapid steering response and straight line tracking are due to the continuous center rib and notched intermediate ribs.
Braking distance is reduced by the Black Chilli compound, which reacts to braking forces and utilizes built up heat to stop on wet and dry roads.
Long-chain polymers release this pent up heat to reduce rolling resistance, making it a swift, but cool headed tire.
For strong road grip and cornering stability, the tire has an asymmetric tread design with a macro-block outboard shoulder that adapts to road surfaces.
For high speed stability and sporty handling, the SSR features steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide, boosting ride quality and handling.
To fit a wide variety of vehicles, this tire comes in 17’’-20” rim diameters.
As a summer tire, the 5 SSR shouldn’t be driven in winter weather, including sub-45 degree temps, or on ice and snow.

These tires wear out incredibly fast on my wives Mercedes. I mean, INCREDIBLY FAST. AS IN 10,000 MILES FAST. I've never seen tires wear out as fast as these do. EXPENSIVE TIRES THAT WEAR OUT FASTER THAN ANY TIRES I'VE EVER SEEN. THEN, IF THAT'S NOT BAD ENOUGH, THE SUMMER TIRES WEAR OUT IN 5,000 MILES. I BUY TIRES TWICE A YEAR FOR MY WIFES CAR. I'M ALWAYS CONSTANTLY PAYING DISCOUNT TIRE PAYMENTS ONBTHEIR CREDIT CARD. ALL THE TIME. EVERY MONTH. When it comes to buying tires, IT SUCKS TO BE ME
